One of the perks of overland travel is that you can feel at home anywhere. Literally. Designed with premium natural materials, SloMo's dining area feels homey and cozy, no matter what the weather outside. Comfortably seats 6 people for a meal or a board game (or a spontaneaous dance party).
Cooking aboard SloMo can make use of the Webasto ceramic cooktop, which conveniently feeds of the main diesel tank so you never have to worry about locating a bottle of propane (or the right adapter, which can be different in every country). Or you can use the 2 portable butane stoves to setup an outdoor kitchen in a split second (or cook more elaborate meals). In a pinch, the onboard microwave comes in handy, and doubles as a convection oven for those birthday cakes. The compressor fridge stocks plenty of fresh food, the freezer provides ice for cocktail hour and there is ample storage aboard SloMo to store weeks of supplies for long trips.
Overhead storage keeps all necessities easily accessible, and securely stowed while underway on a bumpy trail. The kitchen sink delivers hot water heated by the engine while driving, or the electrical boiler during extended stationary stays (powered by solar energy). To stay hydrated, a triple filtration system delivers drinking water via a dedicated spigot. And of course the espresso machine delivers strong dose of the local coffee, or tea.
The 3 bunk beds are foam mattresses on a swiss latoflex base, each with their own LED lights, individual fan and privacy curtain, while the master bedroom benefits from panoramic windows on 3 sides. All windows are equipped with buil-in mosquitoe nets and black-out blinds for a good night sleep. The powerful webasto diesel heater uses an electronic thermostat to keep the living cell toasty even in freezing climates, and again uses diesel from the main tank (one less thing to worry about). In hot climates, natural airflow from 2 large roof hatches and multiple windows, aided by individual fans keeps everyone cool. Though there is no AC, the onboard diesel genset is capable of powering a unit if it were added. Otherwise all systems are exclusively powered by solar, using a large capacity AGM battery bank for extended operations even in cloudy conditions. These batteries also recharge while you drive via a beefy 100A alternator.
The full size shower room offers hot water anywhere (solar-powered electric boiler or engine heat-exchanger), a porcelain sink and a zero-chemical electric -flush cassette toilet (which automatically vents odors using a small fan and active charcoal filter). The 20L cassette has the advantage of being easy to empty in any public restroom facility, or responsibly drained in a deep trench if local regulations permit it.
